Mukki's Mom says: “After a year of nonstop research of his breed, I found my precious baby at a local breeder's home. I remember how he was the biggest of the litter and seemed very bold as he was the first to walk up to me. He's spoiled rotten and gets the best of the best. His favorite toy is his squeaky soccer ball that he has unsuccessfully tried to destroy. I take him everywhere in his leopard print purse. He walks around like the prince that he is, and I love him dearly.”

Gus's Owner says: “This photo is of my Boston Terrier, Gus, when he was a puppy. He was the fattest puppy in the litter, and a huge worry-wort. He had to follow your every move and know exactly where you were at all times. This picture was taken when he had followed me outside and forgot to follow me back into the house. He clung to the screened porch, peering up at me, whimpering with all his might until I let him back in. Why can't they remain puppies forever?”

Ellie's Mom says" “This is Eleanor Rigby White, also known as Ellie. Ellie is a five-month-old beagle who knows how to get what she wants. She is an extremely active dog who loves to go on walks although she mostly runs. One of her favorite things to do is find a stick in the backyard and chew on it while basking in the sun. We have often watched her from the inside of our house while she lies on her back, stick in mouth, perfectly content with the world.”

She has nearly housbroken herself and she already plays fetch with a tiny cloth cat ball. Her favorite thing is cuddling in a down blanket and sleeping with her feet on your face. We are in love with her!”

Update, December 1st 2004: We recently determined that the original photo chosen as a 1st prize winner in this contest may have been a professional shot. This was a very unfortunate situation, in that we cannot accept professional photos (as stated in our rules), not the least of which because the copyrights to that photo reside with the photographer, not the dog's owner. To avoid legal liability, we were forced to make a last-minute replacement. As such, a new winner has been chosen - congratulations to Otis!
